“One of the longest running film festival in vancouver”

About POV

The Persistence of Vision Film Festival (POV) is an annual event that showcases short films written, directed, shot, edited, and produced by students in the Film Production Program at the University of British Columbia (UBC) Vancouver. Established in 1989, POV is one of the longest-running film festivals in Vancouver.

More than just a platform for emerging filmmakers, the festival has become a gathering space for young artists and industry professionals, evolving alongside the city of Vancouver.

This year, we are proud to present 13 short films by Film Production students, screening over two days. The festival features two distinct programs: The Iris Program (Main Event) and The Retina Program (Matinee Program) at the Rio Theatre.
